They have been working with their solicitor and The Brain Charity for Brain Awareness Week. We hope together with the family, the charity and the solicitors that this video encourages more people to wear helmets.
The video tells the story of Ian Charlesworth. Ian was 59 years old when he almost lost his life while cycling, suffering a traumatic brain injury after being hit by an HGV. He wasn't wearing a helmet. Now, three years later, he wants to tell his story to make sure you think twice.
This Brain Awareness Week is the launch of Project Heid in partnership with The Brain Charity Four helmets, designed using real-life brain scans of people that have suffered traumatic brain injuries after cycle accidents. Each design has been carefully constructed in partnership with some of the UK's top neurologists and includes doctors annotations relating to each injury displayed.
